Google and Web Page Names -- Part 2
In Google and Web Page Names -- Part 1, I mentioned:
You should have the URL paths with keywords in them. Use dashes (hyphens) are preferred over underscores to separate words.
Why? Because when somebody ask for:
- The same keywords as you have
- The same topic
- You have these keyword in your URL/web page address and title, separated by dashes
You will skyrocket to the first page. If your title, your description and your URL match your web page, your web page will be higher than the biggest websites. It doesn't matter how many links and ranking, matching takes precedence over ranking.
How To Read Google Search Results
Also see: Google: How To Read The Search Results for more explanations on how to read the search results.
Notice, that the portion of the title that is highlighted. It's because the title of the web page contains the word that was typed in the search box. In this case, it was "Google".
