It's quite rare to see parents take photos with their children, instead of taking photos of their children.

Today most kids take photos with their smart phones. The problem is that their photos are not “photos” but just self-portraits with grins at whatever party.

I started doing photography in the late 60s, that's the 1960s. I was roaming the street with my Kodak Instamatic 126 taking black and white photos of cars. I couldn't afford color film and I didn't understand color photography. The photos were 3.5” by 3.5” and it was around $0.90 each, between the processing of the film and the 3.5” black and white enlargements.

I occasionally took photos of my friends. They wouldn't buy them. I don't know why/how I started showing the photos to their mothers, but they immediately bought them. My photos were different, it was just their sons playing around. They didn't have any of these photos. At first, I only charged my cost, then I started to raise my prices.
