Lightroom Crash: Claimed Victory Too Soon
A couple of days ago, I wrote: Lightroom: Crash and Recovery and claimed victory. Yeah! No :(
A couple hours after publishing it, crash again, and again. It was still not working.
There's no point in trying to recover the Lightroom catalog if the cause of the crash has not been clearly identified, because it will crash again, and again…

I still have some networking problems.
- But Lightroom is a single user catalog. Yes, but it is still networked and limited to one user.
- But Lightroom doesn't access the network. No, it does use the network. The photos, videos… can be anywhere on the network, just the catalog must be on one of the local drives. SQLite, the database used by Lightroom, uses the IP address of
127.0.0.1which is thelocalhost, which is your local computer. - I keep my photos on the network drive. That way, the photos can be backed up “properly.”
I had to change the networking. It's working, almost. I'm still getting errors that Lightroom can't read the image. There's nothing wrong with the image, since it works with other software…
