Apple Aperture

I regularly receive emails asking me questions about Apple Aperture:

  • How to do this Aperture?
  • Why not also give Aperture tip?
  • Why not switch to Apple Aperture since it's modeless and so much better.
  • Why not switch to Apple Aperture since it has so many more plug-ins.
  • ...

I use Lightroom because:

  1. I don't have a Mac, I have PCs.
  2. Apple Aperture only runs on Macs.
  3. Now I rarely use Photoshop, because Lightroom does so much, including local adjustments and brushes.
  4. Lightroom even does layers, almost. Not as layers themselves, but by doing the local adjustment and erasing some of it
  5. It's my decision. I like Lightroom, it does 90+% of what I need.

Don't ever try to change somebody else decision:

  1. Most of the time, you will not succeed, you will have wasted a lot of time.
  2. Even if you do change their decision, they will regret it because the "grass is always greener..."
  3. If this is a customer, it will not be a long-term customer.
