Technical Problems -- Backups

What happened? The website didn't go down. I lost no article. Yesterday, Tuesday 14-Jul-2009, I was doing some maintenance when I realized that the "Tags", the column on the left and the link at the bottom of each blog entry with Biz101, Marketing, Pricing... where not being updated. As a matter of fact, the last update happened on the 7-Apr-2009, 3 month ago.

No problem, just reindex, about 5 minutes and everything should be OK. So 5 minutes later, I checked the tags and nothing, most of the tags are empty. So delete the index and just redo the index, right? Nooo! Still nothing.

Backup

I have a backup of the website done every night, and I have 6 month worth of backups. What not restore from the backup? The backup does not help because the problem happened over 3 month ago. I could go back to 3 month ago, but then I would have had to re-enter and update Foto-Biz.com with the last 3 month of the blog.

I searched around and found a person with the same problem, and he had to edit each entry, that's 474 entries, to update the index. 5 hours later, it's fixed, almost. The only problem left is to get the entry to display in the blog in chronological order with the most recent first, hopefully soon.
