What's the best...

I regularly get the question: “What's the best …?”

  • The best camera
  • The best lens
  • The best computer
  • The best import settings in Lightroom

You name it, it's been asked. The variation of what's the best is:

  • Is Nikon better than Canon?
  • Should I get the … 70-200 2.8 or the Tamron …

It's narrow minded. 125% of the people asking the question don't even think.

  • There's no best camera. All cameras are so good that today even the cheapest DSLR is hundred times better than the Nikon F4 or F5 or the Canon EOS1n.
  • Is there any bad lens? With the latest computer design and plastic manufacturing, there a only a few bad copies of lenses being sold.

The right question is:

  • Under these conditions … what do you prefer?
  • Under these conditions … what do you like?
  • What's your experience with …

On this blog, I only give my opinions. I'm not “God”, I just try to be a decent person and try to share my knowledge.

My opinions are subject to change and are heavily influenced by:

  1. The direction of the wind
  2. The weather
  3. The age of the captain
  4. The mood of the boss
