Here's another great one from What The Duck. It's hard to resist and I'm too weak to even try.

It's true for photo buffs, but it's not true for most professionals.

Most professional photographers will keep their older cameras as a backup. Only the well healed photographers or the “salaried” photographers will replace everything at the same time.

I'm in the same boat, getting ready to upgrade and “my soon to be replaced camera” will become a backup camera. I already have 2 backup cameras. I prefer to shoot with only one camera. It has nothing to due with the flexibility of having 2 cameras and 2 lenses but with age, a bad back, and an injured elbow.
