Traveling to an "exotic" location? What do you need to photograph? What should you photograph? What's out there? And much more importantly, what's missing? What can you differently?

  3. Go to Corbis
  4. Go to Flickr
  • Please do note that Flickr has very different photos that iStockPhoto, Getty or Corbis.
  • iStockPhoto, Getty and Corbis' photographers are "professionals" while Flickr's photographers are "hobbyists".

If you already know the place where you will be going it's even better, since you will be able to spot what's missing.

  1. It's not anymore more than checking the competition, or going to the supermarket to check what their prices are and how they display the merchandise.
  2. The purpose is to give you ideas of what to do.
  3. The purpose is to give you ideas of what not to do.
  4. The purpose is to do the same/similar topic in a different way.
  5. How do you think they did these pictures in first place? Somebody else did them before and they marketed them better.
  6. Did you ever go to another competitor/photographer's website to see their prices?
  7. Did you ever go to another photographer's website that's in another geographical area to see their prices or their promotions?
