In a previous post: Groupies and the D90, I ranted that 4 hours after the announcement, 641 websites where talking, reviewing and presenting their opinions on the Nikon D90, when only one guy, Chase Jarvis had access to it and he even made a 5 minute infomercial video.

In the last 2 weeks, some actual photos taken with the D90 have come out. You can even pre-order it at your favorite camera store.

  1. 27-Aug-2008, 4 hours after the announcement: 641 websites as indexed by Google1
  2. 11-Sep-2008: Total number of websites: 690 2

In 2 weeks, the numbers only went from 641 websites to 690 websites. So either:

  • The photography blogosphere is very small.
  • Most photo websites did not mentioned the Nikon D90.
  • Most photo websites are not indexed by Google.

Pick your favorite explanation.

1 English language only. These are websites and not mentions as "Results 1 - 100 of about 275,000 for 'Nikon d90'". To get number of websites, set options: language English and set display to 100 per page, and paginate to the end. Google will remove all the duplicates

2 http://www.google.pl/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=lang_en&q=%22nikon+d90%22&start=900&sa=N Yes this Google Poland, because I am in Poland right now.
