Long Term Relationship

I hate it. I really hate that expression. When I hear this expression, I know that it's time to get my gun, my dog, the beef jerky and run for the hills. They are trying to “screw” me.

I just had this conversation this afternoon. They want the photos, they want them hi-res, they want to publish them and they want the copyrights.

It's not much now, but we want to establish a long term relationship.

  1. Why don't they currently have long term relationships with other photographers?
  2. Why are they looking for new photographers?
  3. Why do they want the copyrights?

As you must have summarized by now, the “long term relationship” was very short lived. I will negotiate on price, I will negotiate on terms but I will not negotiate the copyrights.
