How Many Quotes?

You receive a phone for a photo shoot, they ask you for a quote. How may quotes do you give? One or two?

I always give 3 quotes, like Goldilocks:

1. The basic
2. The medium, regular
3. The deluxe version

Why give 3 quotes?

1. It gives the customer the perception of choice.
2. It seriously counteracts the discount frame of mind. You want a discount, I can provide the basic package.
3. Most customers will choose the medium or the deluxe, meaning more money for me and extras for them.
4. Who else is giving them 3 quotes? Nobody! That's another way of differentiating me.
