2nd Shooter at Weddings Needed.
I need a 2nd shooter to help at weddings for the summer. Must be available on Saturdays, have your own digital SLR camera and reliable transportation. Pay is $9 per hour. You must include a link to your online portfolio as well as a resume. If you do not have either of these please do not respond to this posting.
Serious inquiries only, this is a fast paced job. Must have experience with digital photography.

Don't see anything here that is "unbelievable". Yeah, the pay is low, but I bet you a lot of people jump on this gig--considering the economy.
I have had newbie 3rd shooters attend my weddings. I give them $100 for the day. My 2nd shooter is my right-hand man, whereas my 3rd shooter is "in-training". They pretty much just carry bags, and gear. They are expected to shoot, but I usually post them in a corner or balcony. I may even set their camera exposure. I don't expect much from their photography the first few times around. However, if I get a album shot--that's great!
Eventually, they may become a 2nd shooter, where the pay goes up quite a bit!

I see nothing wrong with the ad. Looks like both parties may benefit. The main photog will get extra shots at a cheap rate, and the shooter will gain experience. Everyone has to start some where.
Like others said, in this economy, people will clean toilets for extra money. If someone already has the gear, they might as well make some money.
I'm guessing here, but I'm sure the 2nd shooter will do the more candid shots and even photos, and the main photog will do the staged MUST HAVE's and ceremony shots.
Just my 1 Cent (I used to give my 2 cents, but times are tight!)
